Front golf cart wheel bearings behave like a trailer hub
Each front wheel turns on a stub spindle. It carries an inner and an outer tapered bearing, each with its own race.
A common set across older Club Car and EZGO models is the LM11949 bearing with the LM11910 race. That is an ordinary small trailer size.
These are packed by hand and adjusted rather than torqued. A castle nut and a cotter pin hold them, so the trailer hub guidance applies directly.

The rear, which does not
A cart rear end is a live axle. Each shaft runs in a sealed ball bearing pressed into the housing, usually with a seal outboard of it.
The 6004 family turns up across several older EZGO, Club Car and Yamaha models. The exact number varies with the axle fitted.
There is nothing to pack and nothing to adjust. When it is rough, it comes out and a new one goes in.

Look at the last row. A rear bearing with play is finished, because there is no adjustment left to make.
Oil rather than grease on a rear rim points at the axle seal. That usually means the bearing has been letting the shaft move.
What actually kills golf cart wheel bearings
Carts get hosed down, driven through wet grass and parked outside. Tired front seals then let water in, exactly as on a trailer.
A pressure washer aimed at a hub drives water past a seal that was only meant to keep grease in.
Lifted carts add the other cause. Taller tires and wider offsets move the contact patch outboard, multiplying the load on the bearing.

Doing the job
- Identify the end first, because the front is a service and the rear is a replacement.
- Read the old parts, since the numbers are stamped on the races and bearings.
- Replace seals every time at the front, and the axle seal whenever the rear bearing comes out.
- Press the rear in square, pushing on the outer race rather than through the balls.
- Adjust the front properly, seating under rotation and then backing off to a small end play.
Club Car and EZGO both changed spindles and axles across their production runs. A part that fits one year may not fit the next.
Match by year and model rather than by brand, and confirm against the numbers on the parts you removed.

Grease, briefly
Front tapered sets want a decent wheel bearing grease. Make it a water resistant one if the cart lives outside or sees wet grass.
